Torah -- It's the Tree of Life for all who take hold of it
The Scriptures witness to itself as the source of wisdom. Let's see what Torah has to say about itself:
Psa 119:18 Open my eyes, so that I will see wonders from your Torah.
Psa 119:1 א (Alef) How happy are those whose way of life is blameless, who live by the Torah of Adonai! 2 How happy are those who observe his instruction who seek him wholeheartedly! 3 they do nothing wrong but live by his ways.
Deu 5:29 (5:26) Oh, how I wish their hearts would stay like this always, that they would fear me and obey all my mitzvot (commandments); so that it would go well with them and their children forever.
Jer 6:16a Here is what YHVH says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask about the ancient paths, 'Which one is the good way?' Take it, and you will find rest for your souls.
Mat 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they may see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven. 17 "Don't think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. 18 Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud ( י ) or a stroke will pass from the Torah — not until everything that must happen has happened. 19 So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Rom 2:12 All who have sinned outside the framework of Torah will die outside the framework of Torah; and all who have sinned within the framework of Torah will be judged by Torah. 13 For it is not merely the hearers of Torah whom God considers righteous; rather, it is the doers of what Torah says who will be made righteous in God's sight.
Rom 10:5 For Moshe writes about the righteousness grounded in the Torah that the person who does these things will attain life through them.
Joh 14:15 "If you love me, you will keep my commands;
1 Jn 5:2b when we love God, we also do what he commands. 3 For loving God means obeying his commands. Moreover, his commands are not burdensome,
Psa 119:165 Those who love your Torah have great peace; nothing makes them stumble.
We learn Torah not to gain salvation, as some suppose. We learn Torah to learn how to live as a redeemed people, for only Y'shua can save us. With that in mind, then, let us turn our hearts towards our Creator's 'shop manual' so that we can live long, healthy, prosperous, wise lives. It is a tree of Life for all who take hold of it!
